“2015 was another excellent vintage for this vineyard. We closely monitor the crop load at this site, making fruit thinning adjustments so as to grow Chardonnay grapes that are at once elegant, but also maintain complex flavor components. This wine possesses a yellow gold hue in the glass. Aromatic notes of lychee, honeysuckle, lanolin, and lime pith are harmoniously interwoven. The palate has a silky, viscous feel marked by decadent notes of lemon oil, brioche, roasted hazelnuts and jasmine. While this wine has significant mid palate weight, there is also a bracing acidity to balance it out”.
Winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown is focusing on creating a terroir-driven wine with this Chardonnay. In the Vineyard, he fastidiously monitors the vines, adjusting canopy, irrigation, cover crops and cluster architecture vine by vine to promote the overall site signature.
